Double Program: Classical & Modern Painting Techniques

Carol will present classical techniques developed in the Renaissance, a discussion of painting in layers, developing an under-painting, two demonstrations of glazing (including Georgia O’Keeffe), and how classical ideas can be tailored to fit any painting style.

Bob will discuss a brief history from the Impressionists through Abstract Expressionism with pictures. After that he will offer two demos. One will be the Impressionist technique and the other an Abstract technique.

Details of the program and materials lists will be available to those who have registered in advance. Both instructors will be available for one on one assistance during the last part of the program. Tables are provided but bring your own easel. No solvent other than Gamsol permitted. Pack your brushes to carry home for cleaning.
